Throwable 36-camera ball

Who hasn’t seen an amazing photo, like the one below, and wanted to be able to do it for themselves? It can now be possible using one of the most clever gizmos we’ve seen in some time: the “throwable panoramic camera”. Developed by the Computer Graphics Group in Berlin, it allows a user to take 36o degree pictures just by tossing it in the air.
How it works is simple, inside the ball are 36 mobile phone cameras, all set to go off at precisely the same time when the ball senses that it is at the height of a toss.  As it detects that it is starting to fall (using an accelerometer), it fires all of it’s cameras, putting image data to storage. Then, using a custom application, users can put together some pretty stunning images.  Check out this one of a beautiful mountain scene:

his green beauty is an awesome little invention that has every geek in the world is asking, “How much and where can I get it?” Right now, the answer is nowhere since it is in development, but something this cool is bound to picked up by a manufacturer somewhere.  There is no word on how the ball handles being dropped from height, nor what the storage capacity is, but with the padding that it comes with,  assume can take some light abuse

crash test [must watch]

i just watched fifth gear first episode of their 20th season and it was great they test the all new range rover evouqe along with new Bentley but what made me post this was the crash test they ran doing a 190km/h speed 

must of as had gone that fast on several but i kid you not this video will let you think twice before going that fast again .. it is scary to imagine your self in the driver seat and some obstacle appears from nowhere

IOS5 is here

hi apple freaks as you all know today apple released ios5 for all users to download and enjoy the new 200 features in it , from what i say a lot of people are facing problem updating from itunes cz there is a lot of load on the servers which is expectable so here is a trick to download and apply the new update without the hassle of waiting or facing error 3200 and his brothers


first of all make sure you have the latest itunes 10.5 you can find that on apple site or by looking for updates using software updates .. next make sure you have backed up your iDevice probably and to do that you can check your itunes back up by going to preference and click on devices like this photo

after you checked your itunes and back up there are two ways to do it: 


- restore your device which will delete all your content and then restore from back up (this may take some time as we said before there is load on apple servers)

- download the ipsw for your device from here and manually restore it by doing like the pic below (hold shift if you are a PC user [shame on you] or alt if you are a mac user) then locate the file you downloaded and restore from back up when the installation is done by right clicking on your iDevice on the left side and choose restore from back up

hop you don't face any problems with that , i downloaded the files and backed up my iphone but didn't restore yet .. one more thing be sure not to use safari to download the ipsw file from the site since it won't save it as ipsw but as rar which will not be useful

new lens [result]

say hello to my new baby the almighty 24-70mm F/2.8L USM , it was a lovely gift from more lovely person and i couldn't be happier with it since it complete my collection and i wanted it for quiet a time now


i didn't have enough time to play with it and compare the results with her sister 24-105mm F/4L IS USM but from the few pictures i took i loved it .. here are some pictures i took for my nephew and niece anas and dalal , i used a single light in my room not even the studio and the result was fantastic

and here is the 24-105 in a landscape view , i have few new ideas in my mind im gonna test with these two babies since 70-200 can't be useful and i hope i stop being lazy and really work on them :P

i put them if big size so you can check the details but dont mind the clarity for last one cz the editing wasn't as i wanted

SLR Camera Simulator

wanna get SLR camera and don't know to use it or you got your self a fancy SLR and now your are stuck with all the options and don't know what the hell they are for or what they do ? ask no more i would recommend youtube and a fast googling for a quick learn but now you can test all the setting here on your screen .. this simulator will teach you by testing the setting (if you are too lazy to do it with your actual camera/afraid to ruin it tho you won't) and now you can see the difference with each mode and number, there is also a small brief for each term and what they do so i hope you gonna learn fast

rent photography equipment

a lot of bloggers had talked about this new site for renting photography equipment and i just wanted to notify the rest of you who didn't know about it .. they have lenses and studio kits for three different period and they have offers for 3 and 5 days with discounts , the prices are acceptable giving the high quality lenses they got and most of them are L series which means luxury and high performance and i can assure you they are really great 

so if you was afraid to pay a pail load of money for a lens you are not sure if it worth or you need to try it then give your self a chance and rent it and if you did don't forget to give us your feedback about them

fall tv shows

don't you love jacqui i know i do :D she is like my guru in gadgets and tv shows  and i check her blog daily , guess what she made for your enjoyment ( the fall tv show schedule above ) im gonna put it as my background :D she enjoys her couch and i enjoy my lazyboy chair :P


so lets talk tv shows , i had enough sleep and i feel better after being sick so excuse my enthusiasm in writing this post .. i didn't check all the new shows but i ran into a good start with most of them ( i guess) and here is my feedback on the first episodes of what i watched

im gonna start with homeland although it did not been showed officially yet but there was a leaked copy of the first episode online and i grabbed it and im happy i did .. i love Damian Lewis since the first day i knew him from (life) i dont know whats his secret but the zen mode he played was so good i like his act , i still can't know why he always have this passion for playing the prisoner who got released in his series but damn he plays the roll right .. 

" Based on the Israeli version of “Prisoners of War.” A U.S. soldier who was thought to have been killed in Iraq over 10 years ago who is now being questioned as to whether he is a member of a sleeper cell sent to cause a terrorist attack. "

i had a crush on buffy when i was young so it didn't surprise myself when i liked this show and put it on to watch list , the idea is kinda old which is twin sisters some one is guilty and the other one is wealthy and as you expected the guilty fill her sister's shoes but at the end of the episode there was a shocking moment that kept me hanging and im looking forward to more episodes im definitely gonna continue watching it (ringer)

whitney reminds me of til death and here is why ..

free agents wasn't a big hit for me but i think i'll keep watching further episodes till it proves me wrong or i stop wasting my time with it , the actors didn't seem appropriate for the characters in my opinion

i like  Christina Applegate from her part in smanatha who and i was sad they canceled the show it was funny for me , in this show she still has her attends and without her i want be checking the show

i have other shows i didn't have the time to check so i guess i'll post an update for this post later to give my feedback to the rest of the shows , i hope you enjoyed this post as i did while writing it .. have a nice day everyone :)

long exposure attempt

since i bought the studio equipment i didn't take alot of outdoor pictures so couple days ago i decided to go out and take few pictures out side as a new project and move away from studio photography .. since we are in kuwait and there isn't any real views beside towers and other building i choose to work with some sea views and test the long exposure effect on water , i went to souq sharq and set my tripod and test some numbers such on TV mode (time value for canon) and i start with 3 secs and moved up to 10 secs 


i was planing to catch the sunrise along with smooth water but at that day the tide was at it lowest with the dawn so i ended up with these pictures before the waves go completely .. the first shot was edited by photoshop but the second one i was lazy to open my macbook so ipad was the choice

captain america [review]

last night i went to watch captain America since i was waiting the movie to be shown in kuwait before ramadan and they hold it till Eid and was hopping for something new as the trailer was good like any other trailers 


i was disappointed it was just like how i afraid it to be , the story is normal like any other superhero movies .. the main character is weak but his heart in the right place and he wanted to be a good citizen and help his country in the world war II and he got the chance with the help from some scientist in the army and they made him strong .. and then the story goes as u expected it go , some evil Nazi want to rule the world and the hero Americans stop him and everyone went home happy living in a safer world 


the cliche in the scenes annoy me when he fall in love for the female actress and how he talk to her just like bruce willis  did in the movie armageddon before he die , also the whole concept of the strong solider remind me of van damme in his famous Universal Soldier


i get the idea from filming a superhero comic book but couldn't you make it more interesting with some unpredictable moment to stop me from falling asleep !! watching it in 3D didn't help either i still think its below average and watching it on dvd at home when i don't have any other movie is the best choice , im looking to batman movie since last one was so good and enjoyable
